Through the generous donation of a local duvet and bedding company, some of the Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) clients are able to receive these valued items for their families. And what better time of year than in the middle of winter to have a down comforter to keep your family warm! One-on-one support provided by SWIS helps newcomer families access important supports in the first few months and years of their new lives in Canada. Getting to know the school and its resources is a huge part of getting settled. It is the life of their children that newcomers are so invested in as they wish their children to have a positive learning experience and enjoy their days at school.
