Do You Want to Be a Mentor?

The role of volunteering in today’s interconnected world holds profound significance, particularly in supporting newcomers during their settlement process. Our mentors offer their expertise, providing not only professional insights but also invaluable support in navigating the intricacies of daily life in a new country.

When you volunteer as a mentor in our programs, your responsibilities extend beyond mere guidance; you provide career advice, assist with language barriers, facilitate understanding of local customs, and offer a reassuring presence to new Canadians. Your impact resonates deeply, contributing significantly to the integration process of newcomers.

“I always feel I get more out of meeting and helping people from all over the world” – Vicky MacCudden

The rewards of volunteering as a mentor are immeasurable. Witnessing the growth and self-reliance of newcomers under your guidance is profoundly fulfilling. Your dedication to giving back and empowering others fosters personal growth and learning. Interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds enriches your perspective, cultivates empathy and understanding, and provides insights into various cultures and ways of life.

A CultureLink Volunteer Mentor is someone who shares their expertise and makes a tangible difference in someone’s life. This invaluable experience allows you to refine your leadership and communication skills while playing a vital role in fostering a sense of belonging and community for those starting their journey in a new land.
