Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) facilitates the arrival of immigrants, provides protection to refugees and offers programming to help newcomers settle in Canada. It also grants citizenship, issues travel documents (such as passports) to Canadians and promotes multiculturalism.

The City of Toronto’s grant policy is guided by core values that ensure fairness and equity in all funding allocations. Community organizations receiving City grants work directly with the people they serve and deliver services effectively, efficiently and with a great degree of community acceptance. All applicants must meet a set of strict criteria to be considered eligible for a City of Toronto grant.

United Way is a worldwide not-for-profit movement. In Canada, it operates in more than 100 communities. Each United Way raises support locally, directly responding to the needs of the community. Each is governed by an autonomous Board of Directors that, along with staff and volunteers, helps to build a caring community.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
